Wish

Hello lovely peeps, how was your Christmas? Ours was filled with family, food en pressies. Now we are getting to the end of 2013, I can't believe how fast the time went. In a couple of days it's 2014! A new year always feels like a fresh start to me. So maybe this time I will hold on to my new year resolutions. You know, the basics: healthier eating, more exercises and less worrying. Anyway...I wish you all a happy and creative new year :-D

Giveaway!!!

To show my appreciation for all my lovely followers, I have arranged a new GIVEAWAY! This time my giveaway is generous sponsored by De Scrapheap. It's a Dutch store (they ship international) and they have an awesome collection of Stampotique stamps (click here).

I picked these two sets of great products out of the store. Yes... I have TWO sets to give away!!! Each set has a lovely Stampotique stamp, an amazing stencil by Dutch Doobadoo, and (because we can't have enough of it) there is also a Washi tape and Tim Holtz alphabet stickers in it. I hope you like what I picked out for you, I sure do ;-)
I also put a surprise card in it, made by me :-)

To win you have to be a follower and you have to leave a comment on this blogpost. I will draw a random person (with RANDOM.org) who followed these instructions on Christmas Eve (24th of December). That would be a nice Christmas present :-)

So to make this giveaway a success, I will ask you to claim your price within two weeks. I will not contact you, so you have to check for yourself if you're the lucky person who won.

Hope you will join my giveaway and good luck :-D

Art Journal Page

This week I was on a short holiday at a resort with my little family. I always make a little journal while we are on our holiday. I use small pages (A6), quick and easy. I brought six colors of Distress Stains, Paints and Ink Pads, some stencils and stamps. This front page of my Travel Journal inspired me for my Art Journal page.

Stampotique Challenge: Handles, hinges, buckles

Happy Hump Day!!! That means a new Stampotique challenge, this time hosted by Valerie. She want us to make something with handles, hinges, buckles, fasteners, pulls - different ways to flip, fold, fasten, open, close and grasp! These could be used on cards, dimensional projects, envelopes or altered/recycled/found objects.... faux or real - anything goes!
I made this... don't know how to call it ;-) It's made with the Tim Holtz Vintage Cabinet Die and Hinges. The background is made with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise. I colored with Distress Markers. Grunged the cardboard with a Cat Eye Ink pad Sepia Black. And of course this lovely stamps to create a magical scene.

Stampotique Challenge: Washi Tape

Hello, hello... it's my time to host and I choose Washi Tape for this challenge. Not really a hard one is it ;-) I adore this stuff and I think a lot of us do. I especially love the black and white ones, it makes the other colors you use really intense. And it's just an easy way to add something extra on your creation.
So use this happy stuff as a background or as an embellishment on your creation. Hope you like Washi Tape just as I do :-)
For my card I used the TH Label dies, Dylusions Spray Squeezed Orange and Archival Jet Black and Monarch Orange. And a few of my black and white Washi Tape.

Stampotique re-application

A year ago, when I joined the Stampotique DT, a dream came true. I couldn't believe it and felt so blessed. This year was so much fun. I love being part of this amazing team of talented ladies. It allowed me to play with the most fabulous stamps, of which I've been a fan for so long. I tried so many new things with their challenges and have grown because of this. And... I just don't want the dream to stop, so this will be my entry for my re-application as Designer.
My creative style could be described as colorful grungy. I love to use the bright Dylusions sprays and make a beautiful mess with them. I love to Art Journal, make cards, tags and ATC's.

I would love to stay in the team for all the reasons I already mentioned. This team is just the best :-D

There will be two Design Teams in 2014 and really can't choose. The Challenge Blog DT stimulates you to do new things and push you out of your comfort zone. But being in the FB/Blog DT you would have a lot of creative freedom. So either team would be lovely.

Now I will keep my fingers crossed :-)

If you also want to join this fabulous team, please read all the information about it here.

Halloween

We have some real autumn weather here in The Netherlands, windy and rainy. I don't mind. We have been spoiled with the summer and love the darker period of the year. It's almost time for Halloween. Love this feast, to bad we don't celebrate it here. But it doesn't stop me from making some Halloween cards :-D

Stampotique Challenge: New Technique

Try a new technique is the new challenge at Stampotique. I made these two cards with the Gelli Plate. I recently discovered the Gelli Plate and have used it before for some Art Journal backgrounds, but never for card-making. You get some lovely backgrounds so easily. Really happy how it turned out :-D

Stampotique Challenge: 3 Circles

Happy Wednesday!!! Stampotique got a new challenge for you, hosted by Kaz. She likes you to use 3 circles on whatever you make this week.
I made these bird houses with the TH Artful Dwellings die and punched the circles out. I used Dylusions Spray Dirty Martini and Calypso Teal. I sprayed some water through the Crafters Workshop template Wood Grain. Stamped with one of my favorite script stamps. The birdies were colored with Distress Markers. And 'home sweet home' was computer generated.
